Wound Treatment Associate Program (WTA)

The Wound Treatment Associate (WTA) Program is a wound care educational program geared to wound care providers, including, but not limited to, nurses, medics and/or corpsmen.

The WTA Program is endorsed by the WOCN® Society. The program was designed to meet the growing need for skilled wound care providers in all care settings to provide optimal care for patients with acute and chronic wounds as members of a collaborative wound care team. The WTA Program is ideal for non-WOC certified nurses or wound care providers and will help strengthen wound care skills and improve patient outcomes.
Seminars

A seminar is a course of instruction that enhances a student’s career, as opposed to a program that teaches skills required for entry-level employment. It generally has a prerequisite and may include a workshop, an introduction to an occupation or a short course that teaches part of the skills for a particular occupation.

Certification Programs

Professional certification is a process in which a person proves that he or she has the knowledge, experience, and skills to perform a specific job. The proof comes in the form of a certificate earned by passing an exam that is accredited by an organization or association that monitors and upholds prescribed standards for the particular industry involved.

CEUs

CEUs are nationally recognized measures of lifelong learning credit (not degree credit) and are based on the number of contact hours taken for a course.  CEUs cannot be applied toward a degree program, but they can be useful in maintaining certification or licensure in certain careers.  They may also be useful in documenting continuing professional education for an employer.  Criteria for CEUs vary and are usually based on attendance or competencies or both.
